The therapy occurs in a 2-step process:
The first step is to analyze the current state of brain conductivity with a 30 minute procedure called “brain mapping”. An EEG is performed and recorded to evaluate specific areas of brain wave activity. The data is then uploaded into a large database and compared to optimal results. From there, a report is generated showing whether you have excess or under activity in various brain areas. Finally, a treatment protocol is recommended to rebalance your brain waves to a healthier activity pattern.
Treatment is technically advanced, but easy on the patient (and provider!). You get connected to glasses that emit light pulses, electrodes to pick up brain activity, and a computer system that will either play a video or music while you receive therapy. The system provides audio and visual cues to change timing and activity patterns of your brain. Each session lasts about 30 minutes. Twenty sessions are recommended, after which a repeat EEG mapping session is performed to document changes. Some people notice improvement after 3-5 sessions. Those with chronic, severe conditions may require 40 sessions to gain maximum relief. The very exciting thing is that once results are obtained, the effect will last indefinitely. That’s right! The brain is re-trained and retains the balance it learned in the process.
